Common Property Problems

Often a property owner will be aware of a single item that causes concern.  This might include items such as:

  • Cracking
  • Dampness
  • Mustiness or Odours
  • Material Failure
  • Drainage

The surveyor would employ the skills used for carrying out a building survey to identify the causes of faults in order to make a diagnosis of the defect causing concern.  A short report can be prepared incorporating findings, recommended remedial action and advice.  In some instances such as drainage problems or wall tie failure, advice would be given but with the recommendation that a specialist be brought in to give a more comprehensive report.

If you would like one of our surveyors to visit you at your property to discuss a possible property defect, please contact us to arrange an appointment.
